STATEWIDE — NEARLY 3 MILLION NEW YORKERS WHO RELY ON SNAP FOR FOOD ASSISTANCE could lose access to their benefits starting Nov. 1, Gov. Kathy Hochul warns in a sharply-worded rebuke to the Trump administration and “Washington Republicans.” Her statement comes as the federal government shutdown continues and the Trump Administration has indicated to New York that it will not allow states to distribute federal funding for SNAP recipients. Hochul accused the Trump administration for playing “political games.”
