Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman today congratulated Seaford resident Ryan Clifford for setting a new world record on a run that spanned from Buffalo to Brooklyn in just over eight days.

Clifford, a graduate of MacArthur High School, added his 568-mile, record-setting trek of the Empire State Trail to numerous other race and course records that he has set across the country. Running through hazardous conditions ranging from extreme heat to a nor’easter that soaked the region over Columbus Day weekend, his achievement embodies the grit and determination that all Nassau County residents embrace.
