CLAY COUNTY, Mo - Two major infrastructure projects on Nation Road in Clay County have been completed.
County officials announced the completion of the construction of a brand-new bridge over Rock Creek, along with streambank stabilization and roadway realignment.
Severe rains along the road in 2022 caused significant streambank instability and forced a road closure. Clay County took action to reshape and reinforce the embankment and relocate the road approximately 30 feet north of its previous alignment to enhance safety.
The new Rock Creek bridge replaces a structure originally built in 1925. The modern steel girder bridge is wider, longer, and higher.
