Nationwide protests against the administration of President Donald Trump planned for Saturday will include 37 events across Maine .
Saturday’s protests will be part of the second nationwide event organized under the banner of “No Kings,” a reference to the authoritarian policies and actions of the Trump administration, and the president’s open autocratic ambitions.
The first “No Kings” protest was held on Trump’s birthday when a military parade in honor of the Army’s 250th birthday was staged at the president’s behest in Washington, in what the organization called his “attempt to turn June 14 into a coronation.”
More than 1,000 people rallied in Bangor and thousands attended protests across the state .
