MISSOURI (KFVS) - It’s time again to share the harvest.
The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Federation of Missouri is asking deer hunters to donate venison to the state’s Share the Harvest program.
They say the donated meat goes to local food banks and food pantries to help feed hungry Missourians all around the state.
Those in need can get Share the Harvest venison by contacting their local food banks or food pantries.
Missouri’s deer season opened with archery hunting on September 15 and runs through the close of archery season on January 15, with several firearms portions happening in that time.
According to the MDC, hunters can donate venison at any time during or right after the season.
To donate, all you have to do is take the harvested deer to an approved meat proc
