TEMPE, Ariz. — A popular Tempe bar was given multiple fines after 174 minors were found drinking at the bar earlier this year. Now, the Department of Liquor Licenses and Control received grant funding aimed at curbing underage drinking through prevention programs and undercover operations.
An investigation report done by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control details several violations against Tempe Tavern, located near Arizona State University, for failing to prevent underage drinking.
According to the department’s report, investigators and Tempe police conducted an operation in April that resulted in the contact and arrest of 174 individuals under the age of 21. The minors were cited for various offenses, including possession of alcohol and presenting fake identification
