People who helped build and prepare DreadWorlds: Realm of Horror attraction say they remain unpaid for their work. This was the Halloween attraction shut down on opening night by a B.C. Supreme Court injunction.
An individual who worked on the Langley event spoke to Black Press Media on the condition of anonymity, saying they and others are owed thousands of dollars in unpaid wages.
“There were a lot of workers that worked very hard,” the worker said. “They worked long hours – some even on holidays – for no extra pay. And there’s a lot of people who haven’t been paid.”
The injunction preventing DreadWorlds from operating until Nov. 1, and court documents identify the petitioner as Dave and Julie Jonkman who are former investors of last year’s Dreadworks haunt in Cloverdale.
