TIMONIUM, Md. —

The Baltimore Running Festival is in a couple of days, and while some will be trying to beat their personal best, a group of special volunteers is donating more than just their time for the race.

WBAL-TV 11 News sheds a light on "Athletes Serving Athletes," which helps those who can't run, cross the finish line.

At Meadowood Regional Park, a dynamic duo is in training. Meet the duo "Matt Squared," made up of Matt Rice and Matthew Wright. Rice is Wright's wingman with Athletes Serving Athletes (ASA), a nonprofit organization in Baltimore County that helps to empower individuals with limited mobility to train for and participate in mainstream running events.
