Srinagar, Oct 17: The Jammu and Kashmir government’s decision to revive the historic Darbar Move has been met with widespread approval from residents, traders, and community leaders, nearly four years after it was abolished by the Union Territory administration four years ago.

The move, which involves the biannual shifting of government offices and personnel between Srinagar and Jammu, has long been an integral part of the region’s administrative tradition, dating back to the Dogra rulers of the 19th century.

Local businesses in Jammu welcomed the revival, seeing it as a major relief after years of reduced economic activity.
