Federal agents arrested several people outside the last city-funded hotel housing migrants, alarming asylum-seekers just as they're being told to seek shelter elsewhere.

City officials say they were not involved in the operation and many details remain unclear.

Gothamist obtained footage showing one person being taken into custody by law enforcement wearing FBI and ICE/HSI vests. A witness at the Row said around five people were arrested.

“We are actively reviewing the incident,” said mayoral spokesperson Liz Garcia. “As the mayor has consistently stated, New York City does not participate in civil immigration enforcement.”
