Hollywood North producer Chris Ferguson has been awarded a Mayor’s Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals who make the city “shine.”
The producer and founder of the Vancouver film and TV production company Oddfellows was presented the award by Mayor Ken Sim at a ceremony on Oct. 16.
Alongside his work in film, Ferguson earned the Mayor’s Achievement Awards honour for his volunteer work with the Overdose Prevention Society, of which he is the board chair. Ferguson first got involved with the Downtown Eastside organization during the pandemic and has since been on the ground in the community volunteering with hands-on crisis responses, as well as offering mentorship and employment initiatives.
