A tribute to veterans may well be on its way to a local crosswalk in Agassiz.

Dave Eidet, Sargent-At-Arms for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32, appeared before Kent council as a delegate on Wednesday (Oct. 15) to inquire about installing a veterans memorial crosswalk across Morrow Road in Agassiz leading to the district's cenotaph.

Eidet proposed two potential sites along Morrow Road: one between the A&W and the cenotaph and a second site further east on Morrow Road at the Vimy/Heath Roads intersection. The Legion's third alternative would be anywhere else in Agassiz's downtown core.

The Legion has purchased a stencil for the crosswalk and it arrived just prior to the council meeting.
