GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — You see the best of West Michigan high school football every Friday on 13 On Your Sidelines , and some of those teams are getting support from local McDonald’s franchises.

The fast-food chain is raising money through its app next week on what it’s dubbing ‘High School Digital Fundraiser Day.’

Franchisee Ken Berg owns six locations in the Grand Rapids area.

“We were involved with this last year, and I was pleasantly surprised how active and how big the donation was," Berg said. "It really was a great day for us, but even a greater day for the schools.”

The money raised at each participating McDonald's will go to the school that's closest to that respective McDonald's.
