The Erie Zoo's largest fundraiser of the year is officially underway for the rest of October.

Hundreds came out to the zoo Friday evening dressed in their best Halloween costumes for the first weekend of ZooBoo.

Attendees can trick or treat at booths throughout the zoo, visit with talking pumpkins and ride the Eerie Train Express.

Zooboo is one of the largest kid-friendly Halloween events in the tri-state area and keeps people coming back year after year.

"ZooBoo is our biggest fundraiser. This is about our 37th year having this event. ZooBoo has become this new family tradition where we still have the troll bridge and the talking pumpkins. Just a few things revamped, but all the same traditional stuff from the first one is still here," said Hali Hrtley, the events manager for the Erie
