MACON, Ga. — After nearly 50 years of cutting and installing glass for buildings across Macon , Willie Andrews is finally hanging up his uniform.

Andrews, known affectionately as "Mr. Willie" by colleagues and customers alike, has been a fixture at the Glass Service Center for decades. His hands have shaped countless panes of glass into perfect measurements, a skill he honed with quiet dedication through the years.

"I loved it, and as long as they let me work, I work," Andrews said of his time at the center.

Though Andrews cannot recall his first day at the Glass Service Center, the muscle memory of his craft remains vivid — the feeling of cutting glass to precise dimensions, the satisfaction of getting the shape just right.
