(WVNY/WFFF) - Vermont's attorney general joined a lawsuit with twenty other states, over the Trump Administration's cancellation of billions of dollars in 'Solar for All' funds.
The Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA have cancelled over $7 billion in federal grants awarded through the solar program. Including the $62 million awarded to Vermont.
'Solar for All' was signed into law in 2022 as part of the inflation reduction act. With the goal of helping low-income communities gain access to affordable solar energy. While also creating close to 300 jobs here in Vermont, lower energy costs, and address the climate crisis. Vermont's chunk was expected to serve 8,300 low income-households and reduce their electric bills by at least 20%.
