In a significant political development, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has rejoined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Assam, paving the way for its MLA Charan Boro to be sworn in as the state’s new Transport Minister in Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s cabinet.
The comeback marks the BPF’s formal return to the ruling coalition after years of political estrangement. The move follows the party’s impressive performance in the recent Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, where it clinched 28 of the 40 seats, reaffirming its dominance in the Bodoland region.
Sources said the BJP leadership, buoyed by the BPF’s renewed electoral strength, acted swiftly to bring the party back into the NDA fold.
The development comes just days after BTR Chief Executive Member Hagrama Moh
