After Doon’s historic first Limerick senior hurling title last year, their manager Derek McGrath recalled a first face-to-face meeting with some of his players where he saw “madness in their eyes”.
He meant it in the best possible way of course. But when he sat with Darragh O’Donovan, now the team captain and the man who had made the initial contact, Richie English and Pat Ryan, along with Dinny Moloney from the club who is now one of his backroom members, he was instantly drawn.
