London, Oct 18 (UNI) Prince Andrew has announced that he is giving up all his titles, including the Duke of York, in the wake of controversy generated over his purported links with controversial financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Coming under intense pressure over his alleged links with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and amidst calls for Buckingham Palace to take action against him, the prince decided to voluntarily hand back his titles and to give up membership of the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain.

In his statement he said he continued to “vigorously deny the accusations against me”, reports BBC.
