GRAND FORKS — Dylan James seems to have a knack for scoring shorthanded goals.

The UND senior forward entered Friday night’s game against Minnesota at the Ralph Engelstad Arena with four in his career.

“He’s extremely fast,” UND head coach Dane Jackson said. “He’s got good defensive instincts, his first steps are so good and he gets a stick on pucks. Quite often, it’s him getting breakaways or chances. He’s an elite penalty killer.”

James flexed that exact toolkit against the Golden Gophers, scoring the fifth shorthanded goal of his career. It wound up being the dagger in the Fighting Hawks' 5-2 rivalry win.
