An old rivalry between two groups of people reignited on Friday night and led to large-scale violence in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha with reports of several vehicles being set on fire and houses vandalised.
The violence took place after intense clashes between the two groups at Majra village. Police forces were deployed in large numbers in the village to maintain law and order.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Patel was quoted as saying by news agency ANI that the two groups indulged in stone pelting and arson at around 10:30 pm in Majra village. The arsonists attacked several houses, breaking glass window panes. They also set fire to more than 20 two-wheelers and at least 10 four-wheelers.
