Watch woman adopt puppy she met during yoga class thumb

When Paige Dempster attended a puppy yoga class in Brisbane, Queensland, on her birthday earlier this year, in August, she was not intending to adopt a dog. But when the class ended, Paige walked out as the dog mom of a 4-month-old bordoodle, which she named Bentley.

"When the lady said that the puppies were available for adoption, I considered it for a moment and then realized I was serious and was about to adopt a puppy," Dempster told USA TODAY. "It was my birthday on the day, and I was going through a breakup, so (I thought a) puppy would be a good idea."

Video shared by Dempster shows her cuddling Bentley during the class as a woman announces the puppies are looking for their "forever home." Dempster says you can "literally" see her "thought process" as she decides she wants to take the puppy home in the video.

Why did Paige Dempster choose Bentley?

Dempster assumes the class had about 15 to 20 puppies and "Bentley was the biggest one there."

"(He) looked very different to the rest of them, which is what made me choose him," Dempster told USA TODAY.

Bentley is now five months old and the center of Paige's universe. While she adores all his quirks, her favorite is when he gets excited and "jumps up on his back legs," simultaneously waving his front legs in the air.
