Brazil has invited Indian companies to participate in its upcoming oil exploration block auctions, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin announced during a media interaction in New Delhi.
The invitation is part of a broader roadmap to deepen cooperation between the two nations in energy security, trade, healthcare, agriculture, and investment. Alckmin’s three-day official visit was conducted on the instructions of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is scheduled to visit India in February 2026.
A top diplomat confirmed to StratNewsGlobal that Brazil’s crude exports to India reached USD 1.13 billion in the first three quarters of 2025—a 35.5% increase from the same period in 2024. Alckmin said Brazil’s National Petroleum Agency will release six exploration blocks in the Campos and Santos
