LEWISTOWN, Mo. -- In their first season in Class 2 after making the Class 1 Final Four in 2024, Paris now has a date with the defending state champions Highland in Saturday's district championship game.
Paris first had to get past Clark County, with the Lady Coyotes defeating the Lady Indians 10-1 in Thursday's Class 2 District 5 semifinal game.
The Lady Coyotes kept the pressure on Clark County inning by inning, starting with scoring three runs in the first after an error that allowed Emma Ashenfelter, Reese Sutton and Sylvee Graupman to score to go up 30.
Paris tacked on four more runs in the second inning when Katie Cummins hit a three-RBI triple to clear the bases and plate Raygen Crum, Knightlee Mitten and Sophia Crusha and Ashenfelter singled to drive in Cummins.
