Srinagar, Oct 18: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that no final decision has yet been taken on the rationalisation of reservation categories in Jammu and Kashmir, clarifying that the matter is still under official consideration and awaiting approval from the Lieutenant Governor.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Omar said reports suggesting that changes had already been implemented were speculative.
“The Cabinet Sub-Committee’s report has been accepted by the Cabinet, and the concerned department has been directed to prepare a detailed memo. That document will then go to the Lieutenant Governor for final approval. Until that happens, it is premature to comment on what the final shape of the reservation policy will be,” he said.
