New Delhi: Indian teenage shuttler Tanvi Sharma is set to battle it out for the prestigious gold medal after booking a place in the final of the BWF World Junior Championships on Saturday. Tanvi, after emerging victorious over China’s Liu Si Ya in the semifinal, became only the third Indian to book a final spot at the event.

The 16-year-old Tanvi followed the footsteps of former world number one Saina Nehwal and Aparna Popat after registering a 15-11, 15-9 clean win over her opponent. Both the games of the match saw the Indian shuttler dominate and not not many options to the Chines opponent. Tanvi will now play against the second-seeded Anyapat Phichitpreechasak from Thailand.
