PITTSBURGH —

Pittsburgh police are investigating after a man was shot in the abdomen Friday night.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Chicago Street in the city's Northview Heights neighborhood. Advertisement

First responders used a chest seal to stem the bleeding, and the man was rushed to an area hospital in critical but stable condition, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials.

The victim, who was rushed into surgery, has not been identified.

Detectives are reviewing the evidence, including video footage from the area.

There is no word on any suspects or arrests as of early Saturday morning.
