We moved here from a warmer climate in April. We were here in time to plant some flowers and a vegetable garden. We are in the process of upgrading our landscape. Could you give us some pointers on fall preparation in our garden and landscape?

You say that you are upgrading your landscape. You can move or plant trees and shrubs here all fall and winter. You will still find trees and shrubs available at full service nurseries and garden stores. Place mulch around newly planted plants.

There is still plenty of time to plant fall bulbs like tulips and daffodils for spring color. They can be planted until early December. Although they prefer full sun, they do quite nicely under deciduous trees because they bloom before the trees leaf out. If you like garlic, fall is the time to plant it.
