Winter is just around the corner, and that means it’s just about time to hit the slopes. Alberta’s ski hills are gearing up for another season of fresh powder, cozy lodges, and adrenaline-filled runs.

From the heart of the Rocky Mountains to ski resorts near the bigger cities, here’s when Alberta’s ski resorts are set to open for the 2025/26 season.

Lake Louise

The popular ski resort, located just outside Banff, has announced its opening date for this year as Nov. 7, 2025. It also announced the opening of a new terrain area , scheduled for Spring 2026.

Castle Mountain

Nestled in the Westcastle Valley of southwest Alberta, Castle Mountain Resort has a tentative opening date of Dec. 5, 2025.
