OMAHA, Neb. — At one point it looked like doom-and-gloom for Iowa State basketball, which trailed by as many as 28 points and had numerous issues surfacing on both ends of the court. But then the Cyclones showed late resilience and managed to trim the deficit to single digits.

Ultimately, it's a result that didn't count toward official records or statistics, but the Bluejays hung on to defeat the Cyclones, 71-58, on Friday, Oct. 17.
