An Alabama high school senior is using his talent on the football field to make a difference for families facing one of life’s toughest challenges.

Rob Ashworth, a senior at The Montgomery Academy, serves as the kicker for the school’s football team. Inspired by his grandmother’s battle with dementia, Rob decided to turn each extra point, field goal, and touchback into an opportunity to support those living with memory loss and their families.

Earlier this year, Rob launched Kicking for a Cause, a fundraiser benefiting Respite for All, a dementia care ministry that began in Montgomery and has since expanded nationwide. The organization provides restorative care, support services, and community for individuals and families navigating dementia.
