SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Early Saturday morning, Sioux Falls police reopened a section of downtown that they had advised the public to stay away from on Friday night.
According to Lt. Nick Butler with SFPD, a little before 8:00 p.m., security at the Federal Courthouse notified police of a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle was dropped off in a handicapped parking space in the afternoon without a displayed permit, and the windows were left down.
It was determined that the vehicle was stolen, and the suspect was seen exiting and did not return.
Due to the location and proximity to a planned event on Saturday, precautions were taken to ensure the vehicle was not a danger to the public.
