Changes are coming to The Current's weekend programming.

New shows are arriving, and listeners will bid farewell to Radio Free Current, the station's all-request show, which will have its final weekly broadcast on Saturday, Oct. 18.

"Please help me send off Radio Free Current with a bang by sending me your request for tonight's show to help me make it a good one!" host Barb Abney writes on Facebook.

While Radio Free Current is heading out, Abney is not. She'll continue to host a slot from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, as well as 9 p.m. to midnight on Sundays.

Other changes will see Radio Heartland leaving The Current, though it will still be available online and Radio Heartland via KNOW-HD2 (91.1FM-HD2 in the Twin Cities).

That'll be replaced by a longer version of Bill DeVille's United
