BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at a vacant home in Baton Rouge.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, crews got a call about the flames just before 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 18.
When firefighters arrived at the scene on Highland Road near East Buchanan Street, they discovered the back portion of the home on fire. When crews entered the house, they also found heavy flames in the rear and attic areas.
The fire was contained to certain parts of the home, but the rest of it suffered smoke and water damage. The flames were extinguished in about 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
