As Blue Jay fans were losing their shirts Friday night when Game 5 unravelled in Seattle, the biggest concentration of Mariners’ fans in Toronto had a much different reaction.
Though many team personnel on the Seattle Kraken are from Toronto or grew up in Canada, allegiances were tipped to their present address.
“I’ve been in both cities, but I’m a homer,” said former Leaf associate coach turned Kraken head coach Lane Lambert. “Heck of a game last night. I’ve been to a Seahawks game and with the atmosphere there, it’s a great sports city.”
Kraken players watched the game at their hotel, got updates walking past several downtown restaurants with big screens or watched at relatives’ homes.
“Whoever wins, it means a happy home for me,” said Mississauga-born defenceman Vince Dunn. “But it
