Social media is ripping Seattle Mariners fans for their classless act during the seventh inning in Game 5 of the ALCS.

Toronto Blue Jays All-Star George Springer faced Bryan Woo in the top of the seventh inning, looking to help the visitors add on to their 2-1 lead. On a 1-1 count, Woo hit Springer in the knee with a 96 MPH sinker, forcing the slugger out of the game:

Springer was down for several minutes and tested his knee to see if he could keep going, but the Jays wound up removing him. Joey Loperfido, recently added to the ALCS roster, came on as a pinch runner.
