HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- Police say after a man arrested in Jasper on battery charges drank his own urine.

According to police, they were called around 11:30 a.m. on Friday to a home in the 500 block of East Fifteenth Street after a female was screaming during a 911 call about a domestic violence situation. Police say Rene Leyva Calderin, 33, was then transported to the Jasper Police Department during the investiagation.

Police say while Calderin was in custody, he urinated on the floor, used his hand to scoop up the urine and consumed it. Police say he became combative and spat on three officers, striking one in the eye with saliva.

Calderin was then booked to the Dubois County Security Center.
