Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou tore a strip off referee Steven McLean for what he says was two blunders in their 2-1 defeat at home to Falkirk, calling one of the decisions an ‘enigma’. ‌

The Dane reckons Ibrahim Said’s goal was wrongly chalked off in 17 minutes, and Falkirk’s winner should have been wiped out for a foul on Paul McGinn. ‌

Askou reckons there wasn’t anything wrong with Said’s opener, but conceded that Motherwell didn’t do enough elsewhere to make their dominance count. ‌

Said’s strike was ruled out by VAR for a foul in 17 minutes, Tawanda Maswanhise curled a shot into the top corner to put Motherwell ahead in 22 minutes, but the Fir Park side failed to capitalise on other chances.
