One Maryland man has some special people to thank for his big lottery win — his grandkids.

John Lang of Essex scored a $50,000 top prize in the Bonus Match 5 draw game, using the ages of his grandchildren, according to an Oct. 14 news release from the Maryland Lottery. He successfully matched all five numbers on his ticket to win.
