As the Celtics prepare to open their 2025-26 season Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, here are six things we learned about Joe Mazzulla’s squad this preseason:

Boston’s offseason roster overhaul necessitated a change in approach from Mazzulla. With far less high-end talent than previous iterations, these new-look Celtics hope to accentuate their strengths and mask their weaknesses by pushing the pace on offense and upping the aggressiveness on defense.

They want to run more and get into their actions more quickly, moving away from the deliberate, isolation-heavy offense that worked when they had Jayson Tatum at the controls but won’t with their current cast.
