EVANSVILLE — The Indiana high school cross country postseason has officially begun.

The first stage commenced with the sectional round on Saturday, Oct. 18, which included races at Angel Mounds and Jasper within Southwestern Indiana. The top five teams, plus the next 15 individuals from non-advancing teams, earned a spot in the regional at Angel Mounds next weekend.

The state championship is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. Here is who advanced from each area boys and girls sectional.

Princeton was the team champion at Angel Mounds with 71 points. It is the Tigers first title since 2017. The other advancing teams were Castle (75), Memorial (93), Reitz (124) and Mater Dei (129)
