UNC football coach Bill Belichick keeps saying the Tar Heels are “improving every week.”
“I’m not going to back off that,” Belichick told reporters after UNC’s 21-18 loss at Cal on Friday, Oct. 17. “I think that’s true.”

With the loss to the Golden Bears (5-2, 2-1), UNC has dropped its first four games against Power 4 opponents for the first time since 2017. Those Tar Heels finished with a 3-9 record, losing their first eight games against P4 competition before a November win against Pitt.
