The Pike County High School’s Bulldog stadium was dedicated to legendary Coach Wayne Grant on Friday night.

The school’s football field is now named Wayne Grant Field.

Ahead of the dedication ceremony on-field during the school's homecoming game, a reception was held for Grant and his family in the school's gym.

Grant first began coaching at PCHS is in 1980 and was named head coach in 1982. Under his leadership, the team went to the state playoffs for the first time in 1984. In just 10 years, the team won two 4A State Championships. After leaving for Talladega for six years, Grant returned to PCHS to lead the Bulldogs to five state championships. It was clear that with Grant, the team could dominate.
