Officials are investigating a Summerville woman's death after finding her buried in trash at a waste transfer station.
The family of Kimberley Lindsey called police Friday while trying to locate her, according to a statement from the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office and Summerville Police Department.
Later in the day, her family found the vehicle she had been driving at the Family Dollar on Commerce Street near the dumpsters behind the store.
Family members told police that it was very common for Lindsey to frequent dumpster locations and attempt to retrieve items she wanted to collect.
Just a day before, her boyfriend had to assist her out of a waste container at a different location, partly due to what he reported to police as "some level of prescription intoxication."
