In case you missed it, the Chicago Bears released defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon yesterday, presumably clearing the way for second-year pro Austin Booker to be activated to the 53-man roster. So today, it was a bit of a surprise to fans when the Bears did not activate Booker. Instead, running back Travis Homer was activated to take Kpassagnon’s spot on the 53. Homer has been a core special teamer during his time in Chicago, and he’ll also give head coach Ben Johnson another option at running back in case D’Andre Swift’s groin injury flares up.
Booker and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga will remain in their 21-day practice window, as both were downgraded to out on the team’s injury report for tomorrow’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
