The varsity football game between Dundee-Crown and Prairie Ridge high schools on Friday night was suspended at halftime due to gunshots being fired nearby, Carpentersville police said.

Authorities said a vehicle was struck by gunfire at the nearby Foxview Apartments, and there was no indication anyone was injured. Police were investigating the situation as of Saturday morning.

Dundee-Crown Athletics, in a social media post, said the football game was "suspended due to a situation in the area. It later resumed at 11 a.m. Saturday.
