Warriors cut ties with Stephen Curry's brother less than a week before opening night

The Golden State Warriors have no choice but to make roster cuts before they begin their championship quest on Oct. 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers .

To ensure that they’re ready to go for opening night, the Dubs cut ties with Stephen Curry’s brother ahead of arguably the most highly anticipated season-opening contest of the 2025-26 season.

“The Golden State Warriors have waived guards LJ Cryer and Seth Curry,” the franchise stated in a Saturday afternoon press release. “Curry, an 11-year NBA veteran who signed with Golden State on Oct. 1, did not appear in a preseason game with the team. Golden State’s roster now stands at 17 points.”
