MONTEVALLO, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The University of Montevallo has been selected as a host site for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Super Regional in 2027!

The super regional will mark the second major milestone for the program after former Falcon Gabe Hixenbaugh won the individual national championship for the 133-pound division in 2024, making it the first national championship title for the program and for the university as a whole .

The super regional will take place inside Central State Bank arena on the campus of Montevallo, and Falcon wrestling head coach Daniel Ownbey says it is a huge moment for the program.
