A body was found floating in a lake at a popular Twin Cities nature reserve Saturday morning.

The discovery was made at Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield, where a pedestrian called Richfield Police Department to report the body in the lake shortly before 10 a.m.

Authorities responded to the scene and recovered the body, which was confirmed to be that of a man.

The body is now in the possession of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will identify the man and determine his cause of death.

The incident is being investigated by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, which has jurisdiction for water-related emergencies.
