LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska senior forward Rienk Mast made a statement in his return from knee surgery, which caused him to miss the entire 2024-25 season, in Saturday’s exhibition with No. 8 BYU.
Mast poured in a game-high 31 points on 7-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc to power Nebraska past the Cougars, 90-89, at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Having not played since the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Mast went 11-of-15 from the field and scored 16 straight points during a critical first-half stretch to steady the Huskers after they fell behind by double digits. The 6-foot-10 senior also added five rebounds and three assists.
